Who’s The Merchandising King/Queen?
Every retail business rises or falls on its merchandising. If customers walk into your stores and they see empty shelves, shelves loaded with product so that they can’t see what’s there, or it’s so disorganized that there is no rhyme or reason, then you won’t have customers for long. Merchandising is one of the most important tasks for a retail store.
But there’s more to it than just making sure your store shelves look pretty. You have to have the right product, the right amount of product, and the right product at the right stores. That takes some level of management.
One important task in the merchandising department is allocation and replenishment. You need a good way of knowing when you are getting too low on merchandise at your stores so that you know when it’s time to re-order. You also need to know how much of a particular product sells at one store versus another so that you can allocate the proper amounts for each store. If you can get that part of store merchandising correct, then you’ll be the merchandising king or queen – at least in your retail operation.
With ChainDrive’s merchandising component, you can organize your shipments by product type, brands, seasons, or other logical patterns. This makes it easy to get eyes on your in-store and intra-operational situation. Merchandising will then be a lot easier to manage.
